PUKEMIRO RIDGE

Pukemiro Ridge is a 60 hectare block near the west coast at Aranga, with steep slopes, rolling hills and ocean views. Once grazing land all stock and internal fencing were removed from the site by 2021 and a 4 year regeneration project commenced. Areas vulnerable to erosion were planted out first with hardy nursery crop species. The surrounding area was planted over the 22-2023 planting seasons. Maintenance to keep these trees alive is ongoing as is inserting tall tree species throughout.

A wetland occurs within the central gully stream network and is the priority project for future regeneration.
